I did my long run this morning and my heart rate was back to normal. After yesterdays bike I was not my normal self. When I bent down I'd get dizzy. I think my 8.5 hour sleep last night helped. I did my run and average a 128 heart rate for just over 13 miles. On the downside, about 2 miles into the run I started feeling discomfort in my groin. It was mild, maybe a 2 on 10. I was thinking about John Barclay and his groin pull, I was hoping this wasn't the power of suggestion. The only things I can rack it up to is the speed work this week, the bike ride not being in my standard aero position, pushing the leg weights hard on Friday or not stretching fully after yesterday's ride. I hope it goes away before next Sunday's Mississauga Half Marathon.
I bumped into Jamie Grant and his wife as I was leaving my house for my run. Jamie is pushing hard for me to join him and do Ironman Canada and told me it wouldn't cost me anything because I could stay with him. It's so tempting. When I got back from my run I weighed myself and lost 7 lbs of water. It was weird looking at the scale and seeing it in the 170's.
