What a crazy couple days...

I just want to life to get back to normal with less drama and relaxation time. Yesterday the cops were supposed to come to my house to get the information on the truck I found that hit me. Initially they were going to be at my place around 10 pm and then called that they had some emergencies and it would be around midnight. It turned out they did not come after all and I eventually went to bed at 3:30 am.

To kill time while waiting for the cops I was working on my "Triathlon Song" video which incorporates my training and racing for 2007/08. I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night and I'm one of those people that NEED my sleep, at least a good 7 -8 hours. The cops ended up coming by at around 3 pm today. The officer that came was a good guy and explained it is really the truck owners word against mine and he was going to go and talk to them and hopefully they would confess. It was the same advice I got from John Barclay. He did say he was impressed with my detective work and that he'd get back to me.

For the rest of the afternoon and up until getting to the Y for my 8 pm Friday night training sessions, all I did was work on finishing my video. I got so immersed that I was determined to finish it. It's something I've wanted to do for the last 6 months and I was like a "dog on a bone" to finish it. It seems that for the past couple of day's all I've been doing is playing catch up and putting in way to much time on the computer. I was mentally spent by the time I went to workout and was glad I had to stop to train. I know that the exercise will take away my "manic" state of mind and get me back into a "zen" like state. And I was right.

I did a tempo swim followed by weights. The pool was packed and I was glad. When I was swimming there was all kinds of waves and splashes in the water and many times I took in a mouthful of water, which is a good thing, it simulates what happens during the swim. In triathlons the swim is a full contact sport. It is common for water to go down the wrong hole, to get kicked and punched, have your goggles knocked off, or in my case, the worst was getting kicked in the chest, resulting in a bruised rib and not being able to swim for four weeks last year.

Tempo Swim - 59:29 / 2700 meters
Power Weights - 45:00

March Totals
Swim - 9.98 miles / 16. 1 km
Bike - 512.14 miles / 826.03 km
Run - 123.55 / 199.27 km
Weights - 7
Total - 645.67 miles / 1041.40 km
Calories - 49,327

Thanks Johan. It's something I've been thinking of doing for a long time. Now I'm working on the footage for the 2009 one:-)
