My head has been cloudy all day. I didn't even know what day it was today. Being off on Canada Day and working from home yesterday has screwed me up. It definitely doesn't feel like a Friday.
My calf felt great this morning, great during my swim and great during my run, except for the last 3 minutes. The run was poor, I had no speed whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it but I was running slower than I would have liked. I'm hoping the slower speed is not a sign of things to come.
On the run, my main thoughts were about, my new company website, my race strategy for Morden, how much I enjoy running and then for the last 3 minutes it was DAMN! Why is my calf seizing up! I went from a good mood to a defeated mood. I didn't even stretch afterwards, I just had no motivation.
All I want to do is finish the Morden race and be able to go as hard as I can during it, that's all I want. I've been fighting this left leg injury since just after the Mississauga half marathon and I'm sick of it. Right now, as I'm blogging, my leg is up on the chair and I've got ice under my calf. I'm not giving up, but I'm just in temporary despair.
The good news is that I only have two more 30 minute runs scheduled before the race and I'm hoping that will give my leg some time to heal. I envisioned finishing today's run with no problems and blogging that I'm over the hump and that it's all downhill until the race. Unfortunately the drama continues. On a positive note, I had a good swim today and with not a lot of effort I did a 15 x 100 meters set all within a 1:45 - 1:48 range.
I'm thinking of putting a new profile picture on my twitter page. Alice put this hair on me and took this picture two nights ago as I prepared my business plan. I wish I was as happy now as I was then.
Mod Swim - 54:46 / 2500 meters
Mod Run - 1:00:45 / 7.36 miles / 8:15 pace / 134 avg hr

Hi B
Sorry to hear about the calve injury that's still there. Just be positive and give it a full go at Morden.
