I had a pretty full day of training doing weights and a tempo bike ride. I finally had a strong bike ride. I think the secret is that I didn't look at my speedometer and just went by feel. I'm glad I had to train because before I started my training I was downloading and playing with some financial budgeting software. With the economy the way it is and the money I've spent on triathlons and travel, Alice and I decided to do a full review of what we spend our money on. I've never really done this. The software I got allowed us to download our monthly bank and credit card statements and then puts them into expense categories and then has these real easy to read charts. It was super easy to do what would normally be a lot of tedious work, and it was an eye opener. I don't even want to say how much I spent on triathlons. Alice and Reid saw the expense pie chart and gave me the "hairy eye ball". Anyways, I was getting so immersed in the software that I needed to take off to the Y so I could clear my head. When I got back I set up my laptop and read half of the software instruction manual as I rode. While I rode, Alice picked up some beer for the weekend and I told her to start picking up Lakeport Light, it costs about 30% less than Coors and Amstel. I figured it's a sacrifice I'm prepared to make. For the rest of the night, Alice and I sat at the bar, talked some finance and got to bed around 1 am. I almost forgot, a couple of days ago I started to make a smoothie type drink for breakfast, it includes water, a banana, some blueberries, whey protein and water all blended together. It tastes awesome and it's amazing how full and satisfying I feel after having it. Plus since Monday I've dropped just over 3 lbs, I'm sitting at 181.6 lbs, and I think the drink has something to do with it.
