Perfect Day...

I can't remember the last time it happened, but today I had a perfect day. I ate extremely healthy, I got lots of work done and I had strong training sessions.

Before I get into it, I got frightened out of my skin while I was sleeping last night. I opened my eyes and the shadows in the room looked like some big 7 foot guy was standing beside my bed.

I tried to jump up, but couldn't, I was frozen. Not a bone in my body could move. I was paralyzed. The mind was willing and the body wasn't able. If someone really broke into our house and was in our room, based on this experience, I'd be too frightened to move. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

Even though I couldn't move, I tried to figure out if it was real or not. I kept looking and eventually realized it was the shadows being cast in the room. I fell back asleep and opened my eyes a couple more times and "he/it" was still there and freaked me every time. I've never had that happen to me before.

Back to the good stuff, how my perfect day unfolded. For breakfast I had grapefruit and a protein drink, lunch was a Quizno's Tzatziki Chicken Sub, dinner was spaghetti and meat sauce, a protein bar and powerbar drink during my bike ride and when I got home I had another protein drink and low calorie bowl of Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop popcorn.

Training wise, I had a great weight training session. It was the power phase and I was pushing some serious weight and I felt strong doing it. After dinner, I had a moderate bike ride and did it at a respectable speed. Before I left on my ride, my resting heart rate was also lower than normal. It looks like I may have recovered from my Lake Placid Epic Weekend.

I rode during dusk, when the critters come out to play. Tonight I had two friends jump out in front of me from about 50 feet way. The first was a teenaged deer and the second was a big fat raccoon. For the last hour of the ride I was paranoid. There was some fast downhills and was concerned I'd be "toast" if I hit an animal.

Work wise, I also got lots done. I've started to go back to my workplace office in the mornings, it feels better. My day was tackling a couple of projects I'd been putting off and it felt great to get them out of the way.

Today, everything seemed to flow perfectly. It was a perfect trifecta of food, work and training. I can't remember the last time I've had such a good day. Even my blog was done before 11 pm.

As strange as it sounds, I've realized I like training after work. In the past 6 weeks I thought I'd do my work around my training. I tried long rides during the week and I tried daytime sessions. It just didn't feel natural. I'm finding that getting back to my old work routine feels less stressful, in that I won't miss an important email or call.

I'm also shocked at how I don't look as fat as I feel. Other than a little larger than normal love handles, I noticed a 4 pack when I looked in the mirror at the Y. It may be dehydration, I don't know. For the past two nights I've sweat the bedroom stinky. Alice mentioned that on Sunday morning, she walked in the room while I was sleeping and it smelt like a brewery.

Makes sense. I have taken a few pees with some nice sudsy heads on them lately.

Power Weights - 45 minutes
Mod Ride - 3:14:50 / 102.71 km / 31.63 kph / 135 avg hr

Haha, sudsy pees... classic.

Smart move on the office... even if it is a Starbucks ;) I can't focus unless I have a destination to go to work. I am however working from home tomorrow. I was toying with the idea of working from home 1 day a week. I have a 35 minute commute each way... so I lose 70min a day, every damn day... optimization is key!

As for the shadow in your room... I don't worry about getting up and tackling anyone breaking into our house, I have 2 friends that reside in the night stand drawer that are more than happy to meet anyone that should not be in our house :)

good ole cleveland, ohio, both Heather and I have conceal carry licenses haha.

Next time you can wake Alice up and I bet she will kick the shadow's ass.

Glad you had an awesome day, it is so awesome when things fall into place! I work at home often and sometimes need to go to the office to get stuff done.

M, I almost had to flush the toliet before I finished my pee because the suds were going over the top. Funny about the 2 friends in the drawer, one for you and one for Heather. I keep my friend in my underwear. haha. Now that you talk about the conceal weapons licence I'm thinking I was REALLY STUPID in Lake Placid. haha.

J, thanks man. I'm not sure what you mean, but thanks. haha.

JF, thanks, me too.

JM, Thanks. yes, that's it, the spirit loves spirits. haha
