Counting down the numbers...

I didn't get much sleep last night. To my peril. My mind was racing. John Barclay didn't leave until around 10:30 pm and then I had to blog. John can't go to bed without reading it. Alice calls my blog his bedtime story. When he was over here, he even complained it wasn't up as timely as it needed to be last week. I sure hope he doesn't ask for a refund and cancel his subscription. lol.

Before I knew it, it was midnight and by the time I finally ramped down and fell asleep it was probably 1 am. I only got about 5.5 hours of poor sleep. Not good when your trying to rest and get ready for your A race. I did feel surprisingly good during the day. I swam at lunch time and left work at 3:30 pm to get my ride it. It was an unseasonable warm 19 C and I was looking forward to riding in the nice weather.

After the ride I started to feel more than tired, I started to feel burnt out. Finishing my stretching afterwards was a mental chore. I ate about 7 lbs of the Shepard's pie that Alice made and fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up my throat was sore and I started coughing again. Worse than before. Damn!!! When is this going to go away??? Then, to cap it all off, three days ago I got another cold sore.

Johnny at work noticed my cold sore. I told him it's my 3rd in less than a month and I think it's because I cleaned up my lifestyle and my body is trying to get rid of as many toxins as possible, while it still can. He agreed that he gets cold sores for the same reason. It's an interesting theory. It make being sick seem worthwhile.

Here are some interesting stats I've been putting together...

* Today is day 29 of not drinking any alcohol.

I have to admit, I'm a big fan of your blog and your post. Always seem to get a good laugh, like today, "13 days until your next hangover", I can see myself saying the exact same thing . I also get alot of inspiration from you for my training as well. I hope you get 100% healthy for Clearwater. Run Bryan Run...

"John can't go to bed without reading it. Alice calls my blog his bedtime story.". That's funny because I cannot imagine drinking my morning coffee without reading your blog .

Based on your stats, it looks like there are more and more people addicted to your blog. In order to keep us happy, you got to get well and have a super race in Clearwater. We are all rooting for you and anxiously waiting for your race report.

Good luck on Saturday! You have worked so hard for this and I'm sure you are going to rock it!

Those stats were great. My favorites are the 12 days till your next beer and 13 days till your next hangover.

Glad you like it. I'm looking forward to the beer, not so much for the hangover. But for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. lol.

Bryan, you have a special talent to make a list of numbers tell a story and make us laugh. I ran a 5 mile race this weekend at 195 bpm average with a max of 204 and won a glass etched mug! (my "max" is 187) Thanks for the motivation and advice, so get out there and rock that race like a hurricane! It's the final countdown. (now you probably have two songs stuck in your head. he he) -James

James, wow, you were givener. I'm glad you survived. You may have had to have them use that mug as an urn. Thanks for the well wishes.
