The abdominal ultra sound was fairly clean, other than it found I have a "fatty liver". It was a relief because it ruled out tumors, cancer, kidney problems, gallbladder problems or heart problems. To reduce fatty liver I need to change my diet and reduce my beer consumption.
We still haven't found the cause for the high AST and ADL enzymes but much of the bigger problems have been ruled out.
I brought all my blood work samples to my new family doctor and he was surprised that none of the other doctors had tested me for Hepatitis B or C, and so was I. Those tests should have been the first tests done. He had asked me if I had been to any 3rd world countries and I have been. Last year was Mexico, year before was Cuba and the year before that was Dominican Republic. Needless to say he sent me for more blood work tests.
I also got the result back for the bone scan on my foot. The good news is that it that I do not have a stress fracture, the bad news is that it is sub acute ligament damage. It will still take some time for it to heal, but I'm hoping it will heal faster than a stress fracture.
Today was a scheduled rest day as part of my taper for next weekends race. It is strange not training and I had to keep myself busy. I spent my day wheeling, dealing and cleaning. I sold Reid's mini bike to Kevin at work, I bought a cord of firewood for only $50 and a descent Weber barbecue for $35.
The barbecue was really dirty but worked well. I spent about 3 hours cleaning it and now I just need to paint the sides and it will look almost new. I also tried out the firewood. Alyssa, Reid, Alice and I all sat around the fire pit in the back yard, burnt logs and had a good time chatting for about 3 hours.
My next health steps are to figure out a diet that will reverse my fatty liver and to keep doing tests to figure out why the enzymes are still high.

Hi B]
Glad the results came out good. Good luck with the recovery of your foot.
Keep forgetting to ask you, on some post there's a pink/purple smoothie in the back ground. What's the ingredients, looks very nice
J
Thanks. I feel a lot better. Still don't know what it is yet, but at least I know what it is not. I'll post the recipes on the next blog entry.
