All week I've been about an hour behind...

I've added a new project to my plate at work and I'm finding that my entire schedule for the past week has been thrown off by an hour. If I normally finished something at 9 pm, it's now been 10 pm. If I normally get to bed at 11:30 pm, it's now 12:30 pm, and so on and so on.

I don't like it. I gotta figure out a way to get that hour back. This morning was the same thing. I got up an hour later than normal and didn't have time to do a morning run as planned.

For those that are interested, I did go through the McDonald's drive thru this morning and told them I paid and forgot to pick up my coffee and muffin yesterday. Through the menu board the women suspiciously asked me "what time I came though" in that walkie talkie voice. I told her and she said "she was there and didn't remember hearing about someone paying and not picking up there stuff". After a long pause, she reluctantly told me okay and to drive through.

As I pulled up she recognized me as a regular and probably realized I was telling the truth. She then told me it was okay to drive through and pick up my coffee and muffin. Before leaving to the second window I boldly asked for one of the free newspapers they usually give out. Which I got.

I ended up doing my run at lunch time in the beautiful 29 C heat. I also planned on swimming tonight but couldn't find a pool that was open. I checked with two other YMCA's and neither had lap swimming tonight. I'm racing next weekend and I need more pool time. My plan is too cram 3 or 4 sessions in before next Saturday. I really feel no pressure, it's a B race on my journey to Clearwater.

Since I've gotten off the antibiotics, I feel great. All the bloating is gone and I'm feeling lean again. I even caught a glimpse of a two pack stomach in the mirror this morning. It's amazing how going back to having protein shakes everyday is making me stronger and leaner.

I've been saving this tidbit for a while. I was listening to Robin Quivers read the news during the Howard Stern Show and she mentioned that researchers have found that those who binge drink are much more likely to drinking and drive. Duh!!! no kidding.

But then she said they also found that binge drinkers, defined as those who drink 5 or more drinks at a time, tend to focus on fitness and tend to be fit. Now that was interesting. Originally I thought I was one of those few people who were into "bingeletics", apparently I'm not, I've got training partners out there.

Lastly, I got my new Snow Leopard Operating System software for my Mac today. Reid gave me some nerd glasses and took a picture of me with it. It's supposed to make the my applications run faster and takes up half the space on my hard drive. It's sad what excites me now, I'm such a nerd. I should kick my own ass.

Hi Bryan,

I am into "bingeletics", too and when I first discovered your blog I was happy to find out that I wasn't the only one out there. It seems that training for the Ironman and binge drink once in a while, are not necessarily exclusive.

Keep up the good work :-)

We should, definitely. Good luck on 9/13 at Muskoka and especially good luck in November at Clearwater.

Thanks for the invite Bryan but I rented a cottage together with some friends near Huntsville and we already made plans for Saturday evening. Anyway, I am sure we'll get the chance to meet for a beer sometime in the future.
