The ride was so enjoyable. I didn't ride hard. I wanted to keep my heart rate under 140 bpm. I noticed with all the racing I was doing, I was loosing my aerobic base. I checked my ego at the door and just rode to enjoy, listening to 70's music on my ipod. Surprisingly there was a lot of cyclists out today. Most were riding in packs. Funny thing, everyone waved to each other 100% of the time, which is unusual. I think it is because we all felt like kindred spirits riding our bikes on a cool 4 C day. I've decided that this year I'm going to take more photo's of the landscape that I train in. Today I had to take a photo of a horse beside a barn.
I rode 63 km and averaged 29 kph. When I got back home my tooth started to really hurt. It was a 12 on the scale of 10. It was unbearable. I couldn't believe the pain. As I was calling the dentist, Alice found some Demerol. I took it and about 45 minutes I felt much better. Although the tooth pain was gone, I felt nauseous. I spent the rest of the day photographing my old racing shirts for my book. I haven't seem most of them for so long I forgot that I had them. It was a trip down memory lane and relaxing. The Demerol probably attributed to it. We just stayed at home and took it easy, other than picking up some nice rib eye steaks for dinner.
