Training less and getting faster...

I did my long swim today. It was 2500 meters that included two 500 meter intervals with a 45 second rest in between. I had my fastest swim to date and completed the first one in 8:52 (1:46 per 100) and the second in 9:06 (1:49 per 100), for a total 1000 meters in 17:58 (1:47 per 100). Normally I'd be around 1:55 / 2:00 minutes per 100. The focus on really stretching and gliding with a strong pull is really helping me go faster.

I used my watch for the first time tonight. I did a tempo / speed run at a high heart rate. It was tough to see the display at night and when I got home I learnt there is a back light. Duh. The only thing I don't like about it is that I can't see the heart rate display easily. It's very small. I'm hoping there is a display choice I haven't found yet. I used the download feature and downloaded the entire workout to the computer, it was easy and really cool. It shows the time, heart rate, speed and even the course I ran based on the gps tracking. It was a piece of cake to use, I simple just plugged it in and it worked.

Afterwards I began teaching Reid how to use iMovie. He's really wants to create his own video's for You Tube. Alice has also got to stop buying chocolates for Reid, I can't stop snacking on them.

Swim 2500 m/ 52 min
Run 4.21 m/28:52 / 6:50 pace
