Banging in the Basement...

Reid began his drum lessons today. It's great because the teacher comes to the house so we don't have to drive him somewhere and Reid really likes the guy. His teacher is young, hip and has played and toured in a lot of bands. After he left, all Reid did for the entire night was practice and he was surprisingly good. His teacher wrote out some symbols for Reid to follow, not music notes. I can't understand them, they look very complex, but Reid does. It's interesting that Reid has trouble reading but can easily understand complex symbols. Tonight was a relaxing night hanging out downstairs listening to 70's music, having cocktails, watching one of my favorite movies "Kingpin" sans sound, listening to Reid practice, laughing with Alice and Reid, looking at old triathlon photos,  and finalizing the graphics and location of my Ironman tattoo. When I got into triathlons 20 plus years ago, only one other person I saw had a tattoo. I was one of the first and put it on my ankle and it was a Canadian Maple Leaf to remember finishing the 1987 Canadian Ironman, now I see so many Ironman tattoo's on the ankle. I'm now going to set a new trend with the design and location of my Ironman tattoo. As far as I know I've never seen one like it, or in this location. For now all the details will remain a secret, but Reid and Alice think it is great and surprisingly, so does Alyssa. Reid was also showing me my double chin, so I returned the favor, it was a funny father and son moment. You had to be there. The time flew by and before we new it, it was 2:45 am. I definitely didn't want to go to bed that late, but time flies when your having fun.
