My training today was a 3 hour bike ride. Yes, 3 hours and this is the off season, I'm not even in real training yet. What is my coach thinking? Although he did win 6 Ironman triathlons and is in the Triathlon Hall of Fame, so he must know something. To get ready I decided to sleep in this morning, then I went to the Franchise show in downtown Toronto to walk the floor and see if any of the companies could use my services. About 2/3 of the way through a woman came up to me who was in charge of the show and told me that I was not allowed to solicit the exhibitors and told me I'd have to leave. So much for trying to make a living. The rest of the afternoon was going for a car ride, going through some open houses and grocery shopping. I ended up getting on my bike at 7 pm and for the first hour watched 60 minutes, then Alice, Reid and I rented and watched the movie "Step Brothers". I was sweating like crazy, I went through 7 water bottles and my clothes and the mat under me was drenched. Around the 2:20 point my legs were tired, not sore, but tired. I mentally told myself I'd go till the movie ended. By the time it ended I only had 10 minutes left and that was easy to finish. When I got off the bike I bent down to clean the mat and was very light headed and semi-bonking, I didn't eat anything on the bike and I should have had at least 300 -500 calories an hour. Also, I hadn't eaten a lot of nutritious food today, lots of simple carbs. Afterwards, I had a craving for fruit and salad and I ended up eating a banana, watermelon and spinach salad. It helped a little.
Bike- 3 hours / 53.61 miles
