I took my triathlete magazines that are all over the house, but mostly in the bathroom, and put them out of sight or turned them over. I need a break from the word triathlon, triathlete and Ironman. I keep having to remind myself that this is the off season and that I need to relax a little and not overdose on thinking about triathlons. I don't want to burn myself out before the season even begins. I decided that instead of thinking of my current training as a means to an end, I'm just going to enjoy it just for doing it. After all, nothing feels as good as after a good workout. So today I didn't think about how much I dislike swimming, I just decided to enjoy the swim, and I did. Even though I was enjoying it, I was swimming pretty fast, I did a 600 meter set in 10:55 which is about a 1:46 average. Afterwards in the locker room one of the guys said I looked really good and strong, which was unexpected. I finished off today's training with weights and a good ab workout and overall I was really pleased with my state of mind.
