Last night was a late one and we slept till noon, although it didn't help that much, I still had a sore head, was major dehydrated and as Winston Churchill would say "I had the black dog chasing me" mentally. We went out for lunch with my parents and I drank as much water as possible before my long run. I started to notice in the last week that my calf's have been getting tight on my run. I think it is a combination of dehydration and needing new running shoes. Both pair's of my runners now have over 500 miles on them and they say you should definitely get new shoes before the 500 mile point or you can injure your calf's. I've been putting it off because I don't want to spend the $150 to get a new pair, but by my next run, I'll have new runners. I did a country road run and about 20 minutes into it a black dog came running out of this long driveway and started to run at me. I had about 100 yards to make a decision to turnaround or keep running. I turned around, then thought about it, got pissed off that this dog was ruining my run, then decided to turn back around and run right at him and see if he was going to "blink" or "attack". I ran at him, trying to be friendly, and it turned out the dog was a friendly dog. I did an out and back and on the way back I came across him again, this time he didn't even come off his driveway. Because of last night and the abuse I put on my body there was no way I could keep the heart rate under 140 bpm. Once I got home, it was a quick shower, put on the suit and off to the Wedding. We had a great time and afterwards went to Alice's sisters and got back home around 4 am. Another late night.
