I picked up my new bike today. I got a Cervelo P2C with Dura Ace components and Blackwell Carbon Fiber wheels. It is a sweet ride. Originally I was just going to use the Blackwell racing wheels for training and racing, but the guys at the shop convinced me not to, they thought I might damage them easily and they would be very expensive to replace and they also said that by using the wheels the bike comes with that it will make the training rides tougher. Kinda like a baseball player that practices with a heavy bat and hits with a light bat. I also put on an X-Lab Sonic hydration system, they are custom made for the Cervelo's and hold water, compressed air cylinders, tubes, tools and even a pouch. Before I left Endurosport, Brian a mechanic, gave me a good primer on bike adjustments. Then he showed me how remove wheels and how to change tubes on carbon wheels. I learnt more in that short period of time than I've learnt in 20 plus years. In February he is putting on a bike clinic, if I can make it I'm going to go.
After dinner, the entire family went to see the movie Grand Torino. As it started, the sound wasn't in sync with the video. They couldn't fix it, so they gave us a voucher to another movie on another day and let us go to any movie that was currently playing in the theatre tonight. All that was open was "Bride Wars", the theatre was half full and Reid, myself and one other guy were the only males watching the movie. When we got home I dropped the family off and went to the Y to do weights. My tattoo is flaking nicely. I think I'll be good to get back into long runs and bike rides by Friday.
Weights - 30 minutes.
