I planned on having a picture of me in the dentist chair today, I've been there about 4 times in the last month, but I forgot to pull out the camera from my jacket pocket. For the last three weeks I've had the worst tooth ache ever. It's been major painful. On this one tooth, I've had a root canal, a filling and now I'm going for a crown. It's crazy. But I must say I enjoy going to see Bruce, he's my dentist, he's a runner, a triathlete and a kindred spirit. I showed Bruce my book today and he seemed genuinely interested. What blew me away was that he read the first parts of the book. Most people just want to look at the pictures. He was reading it and was taking his time that I figured I should take him through a tour of the book because I know he is busy and I didn't want to hold him up. He took a LOT of time working on my tooth, way more than normal, like he wanted to do a great job, which I'm sure is Bruce's personality. At the end of it, Bruce said to come back next Friday, his assistant said he was full and Bruce said that's okay, have me come back Friday. When I finished and went to book my time, they said to come at 12:30 pm or anytime earlier as Dr. Gardner would fit me in. It felt like I was royalty.
Today was a rest day, I ended up editing the video Reid took of me at the tattoo shop. I spent most of the night drinking beer trying to find music that wasn't copyright protected to use as a sound track. After a while, Alice gave me that look... and I realized this was time to spend together and enjoy each others company. So we ended up hanging around the bar, having more beers, listening to great 70's music, having great conversation and we eventually heard the song that would go great with the video.
