Today I was tired.
The alarm went off at 5:30 am and I decided I needed the sleep rather than training, so I went back to sleep until 8:30 am.
My plan was to train after work instead.
Near the end of the work day I was tired. I told one of my co-workers, Johnny, and he invited me out for a beer after work. At first I wasn't going to go, but then I reconsidered and went. I'm glad I did.
We had some laughs and at 6:30 pm I took off to the pool. I did a 3500 meter speed workout, it took me 82 minutes. I told the lifeguard to watch me, as I had a few beers. He laughed.
I swam as hard as I could, but could not get anaerobic. My speed was great, but my heart rate remained under 139 bpm. I'm not sure if that is a good thing because I'm getting in great shape, or a bad thing that I'm getting over trained?
At the pool, it turned out I lost my wedding ring. My ring is now getting too big for my finger. Luckily someone found it on the bottom of the pool and I got it back.
After the swim, I did 1 hour of power weight training. I was still feeling the "good" vibes of the beer, so I was just lifting as much as I could and feeling no pain.
By 9:30 pm I was done and went home for supper. I'm so glad Johnny invited me for beers!
