On the road again...

Today was a double workout, weights before work and a bike ride after work.

Thank goodness for day light savings time, I was out the door by 5:30 pm and did a 2 hour ride, keeping the heart rate under 134 bpm. By the time I got back it was still light out. I was bundled up as it was only 10 C outside.

The ride went well, I averaged about 28 kph and decided to do the "Bell School Line" hill, which is very steep. I went slow, but was unable to keep the heart rate in the zone, I think it maxed out at 154 bpm, although I felt strong going up.

I'm real pleased with my riding so far. There have been some really good moments where I'm getting up to 36 kph and feeling good. Plus, I'm tackling certain hills without even noticing, whereas last year I noticed those hills. Also, I must say, riding outside is much more enjoyable than indoors.

P.S. On the way to the YMCA at 6:45 am, I saw two cyclists coming back from their ride. They had lights on their helmets and it was 5 C. Now that is hard core!
