Today's training was not meant to be.
Last night my left inner hip joint was a little tender, not much but enough that I iced it just to be safe.
When I woke up this morning, my legs and left Achilles were a little tight and although I was worried about injury, I went to the YMCA anyways.
Once I got to the YMCA I realized I forgot my workout bag. My intuition then told me that it was not meant to be and I'd do the workout this evening.
When I got home from work, I felt so tired and my legs were flat. My program had me doing a 2 hour 5 minute bike ride and 45 minutes of weights this evening. On the schedule it said the importance of these workouts were medium, so I decided, for the first time since I started the program to take today off, rest and recover. I'm starting to feel a little burnt out. Hopefully one day off is all I need.
THEN SOMETHING HAPPENED!!
My daughter gave me a verbal "shot", she wondered if the other people I'd be competing with would be training today?
For some reason that got me motivated and I got on my bike and went for my 125 minute bike ride. I figured if I felt bad after I got going I'd just come home. It turned out I had a great ride. My average heart rate was 119 bpm and I averaged 29.4 kph for 61.47 Km. I couldn't believe it! It was only .6kph slower than Saturday, but I felt great today and was bagged on Saturday.
After the ride, I hustled to the YMCA and blasted through my weight workout.
I got home at 9:15 pm. I feel okay, but I still feel a little tired.
