Man my chest hurts...


This morning I weighed in at 177 lbs, I dropped 5 lbs in one day. I figured my body had been retaining water since the race to help with the recovery process.

I woke up with a really sore chest, at one point this morning I was going to go to the walk in clinic to get it looked at and x-rayed. As the day went on it seemed to bother me less and I figured if it continues through the weekend I'll get it looked at on Monday.

After dinner I went for a 55 minute tempo run. Right from the start I was having mild chest pain. It actually hurt more when I exhaled fully, than when I inhaled to the maximum. It didn't seem to slow me down, but it was a real discomfort. I ended up running at a 7:41 pace for 7.2 miles at 139 bpm, although many times my heart rate got up to 141 bpm.

I sure hope this chest injury heals quickly, as without it, I really think I'm on the verge of some real improvement.

I think having a few beers tonight might relax it. My motto is "when in doubt" have a beer!
