Tired and the today went by to fast...

I was tired this morning. My plan was to swim and run before 11 am, so I could have the rest of the day free to hang out with Alice.

When I woke up, I tried to get going, but after an hour I went back to bed and slept for a couple more hours.

I did my 3500 meter swim at noon, it took me 76 minutes. Then afterwards, Alice went for a Sunday drive. When we got home, I decided to do my long run so that I wouldn't miss Reid's last tryout scrimmage. It was tough to get out the door, I was SO... tired.

I ran for 1 hour and 25 minutes and for the first half I felt really flat. Yesterday I felt great, today I'm tired. The run felt really slow, but surprisingly, it ended up being an 8:36 pace for 10 miles. The running speed work is working. I also made sure I had on 4 layers of clothing as part of my acclimation plan for Florida.

At 8:00 pm, Reid had his final tryout for Rep and it was a scrimmage. He figured he had a 10% chance of making the team, but enjoyed the Rep games much more than house league, the kids actually pass the puck and hitting is allowed.

It turned out he did not make the team, but he did score his first ever goal on the big ice. He was so happy he scored his first goal against Rep Players, it made it even sweeter. Not bad for a kid who 9 months ago couldn't even skate!

I'm glad I did my run earlier and didn't miss it. I had a feeling he was going to score.
