Last night I didn't get that great of a sleep, all I was doing was dreaming about triathlons, the type of dreams that seem so real you don't know if your dreaming or not.
For the past couple of weeks all I've been dreaming about is racing. It's weird. Even when I was younger and into training and racing, I can't remember dreaming about it.
Today is my second rest day as part of my taper. All I needed to do today was pick up my bike and get my heart rate monitor battery replaced.
Earlier this week, I took my bike into the shop for a tune up, the gears were slipping, with a whole host of other new bike problems. Today when I picked it up, the mechanic took me aside and wanted to talk to me. He told me the bike was full of sand and grit and that if I hadn't brought it in and kept riding it, that the bearings would be damaged. He essentially "bitch" slapped me and told me to clean the bike after I ride it in wet weather.
He then told me he had to take the bike completely apart and rebuild it, which is not part of the new bike warranty policy, and wanted more money. I asked him how much and he said $25. I gladly paid him.
Other than that, I have no training today and I don't know what to do with myself, except surf the net and snack, er...I mean...carbo load.
