I was looking forward to today. It is my long run day. Today it got cold for Burlington, - 19 C with wind chill. I was like a kid at Christmas, I was looking forward to my run!
It took me a while to get ready as it has been some time since I needed to bundle up and was debating how layered to get. In Winnipeg I had it dialed, one speed...layer to the max. After a little thought, I figured I'm going to go to the max today, comfort first. Vivi la Winnipeg.
I got out the door and noticed right away I needed to run on the roads. The side walks were covered with a light snow that covered the slippery ice underneath. I was debating whether to run City or Country. With the ice on the side walks I decided to go Country, which I always like better for long runs anyway.
I had a nice 2 hour plus run, in the cold and light snow with the iPod going...It was GREAT. I love the long run.
Afterwards, I went to Toronto to get the initial fitting for my new FREE bike. It was an awesome shop, they had all the stuff you see in the magazines. They had me peddle on a simulator, they probably thought I was out of shape because I started sweating after a few minutes, but that happens after you run 2 hours.
I finished off the day going with Alice and Reid to the hockey hall of fame, then home to have a beer out of "das boot" and make an e- Christmas card with Alice for the family to send out. Paste this link into your browser and enjoy our Christmas card to you...
