No training today, a rest taper day.
I had a pleasant morning, all my triathlon gear for the race was delivered today which took the pressure off. The gear included my triathlon racing jerseys with the "Training Payne" logo on them. Plus, I got my regular tee shirts and warm up shirts from Vista Print. Everything looked great.
To get ready for the race I took my bike to the shop to get the gears fixed, then I went on a hunt for a wet suit. I wanted to rent a long sleeve one first to see if I like it, but no one had any available in my size for this weekend.
Over the last few months I've been trying on wetsuits at different shops and none have felt like they fit right. After my last, almost fatal experience racing and almost drowning with a wet suit that was too small, I've decided not to compromise the fit on any level.
I ended up going to Endro Sport, partly because they have a policy that if I don't like the wet suit for any reason, I can return it within 30 days and get a full refund. After trying on the Nineteen Tsunami I don't think I'll be returning it. It felt like it was custom made to my body.
I was a little tired by the end of the day from the driving around in heavy traffic and I was glad I didn't have any training. For the rest of the night I sat at my bar, had some cold ones and relaxed with Alice, Reid and Alyssa. We were playing around with all the bar stuff and trying to figure out where is the best place to hang it all.
