Not feeling it...

I was up early and on the bike by 9 am for a 30 minute pre race ride. I felt horrible, my heart rate was through the roof. All because I decided to party a little to much last night and have one to many Coors Light. My pre race ritual is always to have about 4 beers, two nights before the race. I ended up getting carried away and I don't know how much I had, but it was more than four.

What a stupid thing to do!!!!

After the bike I did a 15 minute pre race run at a 7:44 pace. Again, my heart rate was high.

Later in the afternoon, I decided to try out my wet suit and do my pre race swim in the open water. Alice, Reid and I went to Gulliver's Park and I did a 13 minute swim. The suit felt great.

All day I had been drinking water and doing everything I could to flush my system of any toxins from last night. I'll find out tomorrow if it worked when I take my morning resting heart rate.

I've already packed all my triathlon gear, I've shaved my legs and I'm ready to go. Now I just need a good night recovery sleep.
