Full day...

Today I was back to a full day of training, totaling just under 3 hours.

Before work I did a 3500 meter swim, which took me 85 minutes. The swim was fairly slow for a speed swim workout. I could really tell that I lost speed due to the chest injury and limited swimming for the past month, but I went as hard as I could and I'm determined to get my swim fitness back.

After work, John and I went for a 90 minute moderate run. It was fairly warm outside and we took it easy, I kept my heart rate under 134 bpm for the entire run. We ended up doing 9.66 miles at a 9:30 pace, although it didn't feel that slow. About half way through the run my knee was really bothering me. It hurt on the side due to the fall I had 2 weeks ago. If the run was any longer I would have been concerned that I'd be doing some real damage. When I got home I iced it for about an hour and took some Advil.

I'm still hurting on the left knee and elbow from the fall of the bike a couple of weeks ago. My elbow is still so tender that I can't rest it on anything hard.

I'm also now feeling back to normal after such an action packed weekend. I've got everything out of my system and it feels good to get back into a routine.
